What are cookies and what purpose do they serve?

Cookies are small textfiles that websites can save on your computer’s harddrive, smartphone or other electronic device. However, the word “cookies” in this Cookie Policy and in the consent also means other forms of automatic data collection, e.g. Web Storage (HTML5), Javascripts or cookies set using other software. The word “cookies” also include information about MAC-address and other information about your device.

Cookies can both be used by Siala Copenhagen ApS and by third parties (Read the cookie notice).

In general, cookies are used as a part of our service to show content that are relevant to you.

Some cookies are necessary to make the website function.

Other cookies provide data about your visit on our website so that we can optimise and customise to fit your needs and interests. These cookies remember the content of your shop basket, if you have visited our website before, if you are currently logged in, which language you prefer and which currency you would like to show on our website. We are also using cookies to target our ads to you on other websites.

The list of cookies being processed by Siala Copenhagen ApS can be found in the cookie notice in your browser.

The processing takes place with the purpose of registering the user’s visit to siala.dk, so that siala.dk can continuously maintain the necessary functions of the platforms. The purpose is also to optimise and target the platforms to the user’s needs and interests, based on previous visits. Eg. cookies remember what the user previously added to the shopping cart, and, when logged in, the user’s settings and preferences such as language and currency. The purpose is to allow Siala Copenhagen ApS the ability to market to its target user on other digital platforms.

The legal basis for the processing of necessary cookies and other similar tracking information is EU’s Data Protection Regulations (balancing of interests).

The legal basis for the processing of unnecessary cookies (ie functional cookies, statistical cookies and marketing cookies) and other similar tracking information is the EU Data Protection Regulation (consent). The consent can be withdrawn at any time. This can be done directly in the cookie settings of your browser.

The maximum retention period for cookies and other similar tracking information depends on the purpose of the individual cookie or tracking information.

There are basically two types of cookies, “temporary / session“ and “permanent”. The temporary cookies are linked to the current visit on the website and are deleted automatically when you close your web browser. The permanent cookies, on the other hand, will be stored on your equipment. Permanent cookies delete themselves after a certain period, but will be renewed every time you visit the website.

The retention for individual cookies and similar tracking information can be read in the cookie notice.

In addition, Siala Copenhagen ApS only stores cookies and other similar tracking information, as long as the user has not deleted them or withdrawn the cookie consent.
